2012 and new projects

A very happy new year to you.

I have not been keeping up with the website updates and have made a new years resolution to change that!

With that in mind a brand new website is underway, and in the meantime, news of some new projects.

I’ve been rehearsing with 3 lovely fiddle players for a new project called ‘RANT’. We are just four fiddles ; Jenna Reid, Sarah-Jane Summers, Bethany Reid and me. You can listen to our music here and we will hopefully be out and about doing some gigs later in the year.

I’m also working towards a duo album with flute player Calum Stewart and starting to plant the seeds for the next solo album

Delighted to announce the first Black Isle Fiddle Weekend will take place in Cromarty from 8th-10th July 2011. Tutors will be Charlie Mckerron, Chris Stout, and myself. It promises to be a great weekend of intensive tuition, gigs, sessions, and good highland fun!

Summer!

Summer is finally here. I am marking it with a lovely gig on sunday 27th June in Torphichen Kirk, West Lothian. It is part of their Summer Nights series and takes place in a gorgeous setting.

Onwards from there to Barra for the Feis, and then Aberdeen for the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention. Can’t believe it’s 4 years since the last one. Time flies. I’ve got a few gigs with Maeve MacKinnon and Ewan MacPherson at the end of July, then it’s into August and the Edinburgh Fringe. Keep an eye on dates on the gigs page.
